As ridiculous as the title of this article sounds. When it comes to the woes of the heart, nothing is ridiculous, logic and accountability go straight out the window and if you find yourself unlucky in love yet still hanging on by your boot laces, then, well lets just say your going along for the ride whether you want it or not.
Your emotions will be the pilot for the duration of the journey and even though you may consciously wish to break free from your affair, another deeper part of your mind or more to the point, your heart, is not going to give up the ghost so easy.
There seem to be opposing forces at work when one is struck down with unrequited love. On one hand, you wish for the pain of love to be over yet somehow its exquisite torment keeps you holding on. Stuck in the great big land of limbo, the land of WHAT IF!
The number one driving force behind anyone hanging on to any kind of love struck relationship is a deep seated and complicated situation. In a nutshell, the main reason most people won’t leg go and move on is not because they don’t want to. It is because they fear that if they do let go and a chance comes round again, that they will no longer be bothered to pick up the thread. The irony here is that you will no longer be bothered, you won’t feel the pain, angst and longing that you once did. You will be free and much better for it. So why do we stop ourselves time and time again. Teetering on the brink of a better tomorrow yet always dragging ourselves back at the last minute? It is as if we safeguard ourselves from change, just in case it all works out. This is no way to live and life really is about moving forward not backwards.
